Alte Bibliothek. Bebelplatz 1. Berlin, Germany. Die Alte Bibliothek ist ein Gebäude in Berlin. Es liegt im Ortsteil Mitte an der Straße Unter den Linden und befindet sich dort auf der Westseite des angrenzenden Bebelplatzes, des einstigen Forum Fridericianum. Das Haus wurde von 1775 bis 1780 im Stil des Barock erbaut. Aufgrund ihrer geschwungenen Form wird die Alte Bibliothek seither im Berliner Volksmund als „Kommode“ bezeichnet.
