Many thanks to artist AYMEN TABIB for featuring 'America Free Falling' in the artists group RED AND BLUE.

Anita talks a whole lotta sense. If you want to make clear why people need to have ideals and values, that's the way to do it. And the frank summation of corruption and cynicism down here is just so. I live in Spain and it's a lot like that here. People here cannot see that regarding honesty, hard work and community ideals as foolishness is what keeps a country down. Look at Russia : all that money being made there but what about the people? Entrenched in poverty and cynicism, turning day by day to nationalist hubris as a substitute for working together as a nation and a community to build an honest society for hard-working people. The contempt for the honest, hard-working person, and the exploitation of that person is at the root of the failure of many societies, despite however much money might be made by some.

This design and these colors made me think about the portrayal of this image as being about the USA being in "free fall," which does feel right. There are so many ways in which it is out of control and the election is coming up which couldn't have any two parties being more definitively opposed to one another on every possible subject. Who wins could change the course of the US for many years to come, including the arena of women's rights, as well as equal rights in general, not to mention the future of the environment, the middle class, etc. Thought provoking image! v/f

Nice feel of floating through the air v/f

America Free Falling by Anita Dale Livaditis Digital Panting, Digital Drawing Thomas Sowell, from "Ever Wonder Why?": " Chirping about "change" may produce a giddy sense of excitement or of personal exaltation but, as usual, the devil is in the details. Even despotic countries that have embraced sweeping changes have often found that these were changes for the worse. The czars in Russia, the shah of Iran, the Batista regime in Cuba, were all despotic. But they look like sweethearts compared to the regimes that followed. For example, the czars never executed as many people in half a century as Stalin did in one day. Even the best countries must make changes and the United States has made many economic, social, and political changes for the better. But that is wholly different from making "change" a mantra. To be for or against "change" in general is childish. Everything depends on the specifics. To be for generic "change" is to say that what we have is so bad that any change...
