I had some painting time with my children, ages 8 & 4, and while I tried to teach them perspective and tonal value with the use of an apple, the two defied instruction at that particular moment and wnet on to paint what they want. I painted a study of the apple. When everyone else goes the other way other than your own, it can be a pretty solitary journey.
