This illustration started as concept work for a comic book cover. The storyline in the book revolved around androgyny and a somewhat dystopic future world. In working with it I started experimenting with the use of extreme white space and blocks of solid color. Combined, these things created a sense of unease, censorship and anonymity. The original composition included a solid block of white at the top. I�ve included this cropped version as an alternate to the original.

Like most illustrators, my love of art started at an early age. Pencil sketches, watercolor, oil, and digital illustration continue to be my media of choice. My favorite artists include Michelangelo, Picasso, Norman Rockwell, and Georgia OíKeefe. Iím also inspired by the works of Greg Lawhun, H.R. Giger, Jason Young, and Glenn Keane.
