This is a beautiful painting! The artist knows my husband and we were so excited to bring one of her pieces of art into our home! It's beyond what we expected! It is part of the background when I do virtual meetings (which I am in all day long) and I get so many compliments on how beautiful my "virtual backdrop is". When I tell people that it's my actual office, they always comment on the art!

Love this painting and so many compliments as it's in a treatment room where my husband is a Chiropractor. His patients love it!

The Lion And Lamb painting is absolutely beautiful and very anointed. It speaks such peace to me. We have been furnishing a missionary apartment and as soon as I saw this picture I knew it was the one! I know it will minister to each missionary that stays in our apartment just like it ministers to me.

She is very like my sweet Emma and I bought it in memory of her. Emma's room is now my office but the painting makes clear that it is still, first and foremost, kitty space. This piece comforts my heart every day. Emma has been gone for a year and I miss her incredibly.

Experimenting further with the Janelle Monae paints on foam board using the splatter technique................................................. In this case I ran a contest asking for a one word title and a choice of 3-5 colors............................................ I selected a winner and then created the painting in my garage where I do all my splatter work.............................I really work up some energy and sweat when I make these and usually my right arm is even sore the next day........................................I did a second variation of this on canvas and you might be surprised at how similar the two are............................... I have a hundred more ideas of what to paint with this technique............................................... I think some of them might surprise you as well as me...................................................(June 2014)
About Phil Strang
Phil has been painting since Junior High school in New York, but only in the past twenty years has he developed a practice of painting on glass. He was doing mostly portraits of Second Life avatars and some of real life characters, then in the summer of 2014 he started experimenting with various types of splatter painting as two eye operations have made detailed work much harder. Now he does a combination of Impressionistic painting on glass and acrylic abstracts on textured canvases, He has lived in Champaign-Urbana for the past 57 years and loves the flat peacefulness and constant change of the Midwest. He is most grateful for his two great kids and his wonderful wife, Mary. Besides painting, Phil has also played in bands doing...

Thank you Marcia, Carole-anne, Dominique and Tom. I like to think I work with more emotion than Pollock did and this piece is actually the father of five more pieces I have painted since where the circle has been more defined while the madness and freedom spins around and on top of it.
