About Joseph Snyder
My main inspiration for becoming an artist began with my daily trips to the Philadelphia Art Museum as a young child. The Art Museum was my own personal creative playground, almost every day, I would spend hours exploring the many styles of artwork. Even the grounds were interesting to me, I would find special places to call my own and in the process, awoke a new appreciation of nature as a subject to paint. My interest in landscape painting began to grow in 1970 as I became inspired by an artist named Robert Wood, a Landscape painter and very popular artist of the 60's era. I continued to pursue a traditional approach to painting landscapes and I felt a connection with my spiritual side and nature. My formal art training began...
