This piece is done in colored pencil on frosted mylar. It has appeared in several magazines including American Artist, and was shown at the John Pence Gallery in San Francisco. It took second place in the 1999 Colored Pencil Society open exhibition.
My passion is Realism, especially close up, with lots of detail. Each painting is a labor of love, and can take from 20 to 75 hours to complete. I've been working full time as an artist since 2004, and attended several art schools in the early 1980's. My work has won awards at the local and national level, and has been published in "American Artist" and "International Artist" magazines.
I live near Pittsburgh, PA with my wife, two teenagers, and a small menagerie of animals.
