"Atty" is an original oil painting of my friend Atty, the quintessential "old bird hunter". The painting captures the pure excitement of the flush as bird, man, and dog are in full motion. Blaze, Atty's English Pointer, had this covey of quail nailed as he turns to chase the nearest bird that flushed right out from under his nose. And Atty raises his gun in hopes for a good shot. Atty passed away a number of years ago but I'll always treasure my days afield with him. He was a wonderful man who taught me much about hunting and life. I hope you enjoy the artwork.
Indiana painter Steve Haigh spent his formative years in Toledo, OH where from a very young age his love for the outdoors was born. As a teenager Steve attended Outward Bound in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado which opened his eyes to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. This experience, more than anything, cemented his lifelong love for landscapes and the West.
After receiving the Artist Award at his High School graduation, Steve went on to Miami University where he focused on a business degree.
