They enjoy company and will bond with a group of livestock. The donkeys will try to keep everything very peaceful and safe. When they sense some commotion in the field, they often react by placing themselves between the intruder and their group and will then protect. They might charge at a dog or coyote, pick them up and throw them, bite or kick, whatever they can do to protect.
