(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Just a few miles down the road from Brookville and somewhere between Cincinnati and Indianapolis you may find a 19th Century Indiana Canal Town. Besides the small shops with antiques and crafts there are a few restaurants and even an old canal boat. For just a few dollars, you can take a slow ride down the historic canal in an old wood boat that is pulled by two big work horses. This old grist and roller mill was built way back in 1845, but they had to rebuild it in 1900. It still stands today powered by water diverted from the old canal. One cool and windy morning , I took a leisurely walk there just to enjoy the history, nostalgia and another ... Autumn In Metamora.

My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home.
