Even the big U.S. car makers realized that in the 1950s when they abandoned the old squared-off, boxes on wheels designs and began adding sexy curves and fins. Then owners got their own ideas and started to beef up the performance of their engines, add a lot of chrome and created classic Hot Rods like this one. Wheels were painted or chromed and big white stripes were added to the tires. Real metal hubcaps played an important role to cover unsightly lug nuts and to help protect the wheel bearings from dirt and water. Paint the wheel red, add a chrome ring and a small half-dome shiny chrome cover for a really cool looking set of ... Baby Moons.
