I had held off purchasing any Super Bowl LVIII collectibles or memorabilia until I found something that I thought was just “awesome”. When I saw this SI Cover, I knew I had to have it. Honestly it’s one of the best photos I’ve ever seen. Along with the captions it captures what Super Bowl LVIII was all about. Your Photog was in the right place at the right time and did a great job of capturing what Chiefs fans all across the country felt at that moment. As you can see I had the perfect place for it, it makes this wall complete and up to date.

Artist's Description
This piece is a portrayal of the possible and probable move into the blackness of despair or depression, especially for a person with bipolar disorder. Though one can try to feel rooted in one place, vs swinging from highs to lows with BPD, it's a precarious feeling. Part of my inspiration for this piece is my own battle with BPD. While working on this, Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black," Damien Rice's "Faded Fantasy," and Jack Johnson's "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing," were part of my process. The original is 9"x12", but not for sale. Only prints are available.

Christel Roelandt
How you translate your most inner thought processes and feelings into surreal art, dear Suzi! Amazing...the darkness, the despair, the hollow feeling at times of heart, then the mind or then your womanhood,...all you express here...The roots searching to feed on what seems to be broken for the greater part too unfortunately... I see more every time I look! And ...I have to LOVE your playlist ;) ...now there`s a fabulous trio here, top of my own list and you know that :) !! Hope your weekend is much brighter though, my dear?! Sending you my best wishes!! xox Christel. L&F&T
Suzi Gessert replied:
Christel, I love how you "get" my art!! Your interpretation was so sensitive and insightful. It is often as though you are sitting right next to my mind, if not IN it at times (lol). And I knew you'd approve of and love the playlist! Yes, indeed you introduced me to Damien and Kimmo introduced me to Amy's "Back to Black." I hope your weekend has been wonderful, my friend! Sending big hugs! Thank you, thank you! ~xox
John Alexander
What a fantastic painting this is. The thought behind this touches on subject matter that so very many people want to keep behind closed doors. Such dark maladies are all too often looked upon negatively, if not flat out dismissed as psychosomatic. I try to address these dark realities that all too many of us face in the form of art... just like you have with this wonderful painting. Thank you for sharing with us Suzi, I really do love it.
Suzi Gessert replied:
John, you just touched my heart in such a special way and I thank you. This was a subject matter that I hid for too long, but eventually realized that I didn't have anything to be ashamed of. In fact, I feel that many of us with various forms of "dark realities" have been gifted with deeper insights into the human psyche. And fortunately for those of us who are artists and writers, we can then express these insights in ways to which others may be able to relate. I'm so glad you like this piece. Thank you, always, for the things you say!
