Baden-Powell with US scouting pioneers. Seated at centre is the British founder of the Boy Scouts movement, Robert Baden-Powell (1857-1941). At left is Ernest Thompson Seton (1860-1946), one of the founding pioneers of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). At right is Daniel Carter Beard (1850-1941), whose Sons of Daniel Boone (1905) merged with the BSA when that organisation was founded in 1910. Seton was Chief Scout of the BSA from 1915 to 1934.
