... Take the backroads along the river, deep in the heart of the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee! This is the Bald River Falls along the River Road just off of the Cherohala Skyway. The River Road winds it's way through the forest and connects up to the Cherohala Skyway and eventually to the city of Tellico Plains in Tennessee . The road threads through the Cherokee and the Nantahala National Forests and is so very beautiful, especially in the autumn. As you work your way up on the Cherohala Skyway, the forest changes from full autumn colors at the lower elevations to full winter at the top!
