About Arla Patch
Arla Patch is a fine artist, photographer, writer and creativity midwife. After graduating from high school in Bangkok, Thailand, she went to Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, graduating with a double degree in Sculpture and Teaching: BFA, Ed. She earned an MFA at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. She has been teaching since 1972. Her own trauma history led to using art as a tool for healing and personal transformation. As a teacher, she began sharing the art experiences that helped her with others. She has worked with women with breast cancer, sexual abuse survivors, women in prison, and at-risk teens among others.
