As I walked by the whitewashed walls of this house in Pothia, I pondered what lay beyond this iron gate, so delicately framed by trailing bougainvillea. A terracotta urn caught my eye further up the walkway, as did the windows overlooking the courtyard. I wondered who might be looking out, as I peered in.....
