Map, owned by Confederate General Benjamin Franklin Cheatham, showing roads, towns and streams in the counties of Cannon, DeKalb, White, Warren, Van Buren, Coffee, Grundy and parts of Rutherford, Smith and Bedford in south central Tennessee. As a division and, later, corps commander in the Confederate Army of Tennessee, Cheatham may have used this detailed map for operations in Middle Tennessee

Benjamin Franklin Cheatham was a Brigadier-General in the Confederate Army (1861) and Major-General of the Confederate Army of Tennessee. In 1864, he was appointed to command a corps when Gen. John Bell Hood undertook his Tennessee Campaign.
