About the Image

Blue Sea and Sail by B L Qualls

The original is pen and ink, watercolor and acrylic on paper. There is an interesting scripture that shows God's power over the sea. In Job 38:1 and 8-11 it says: "Then Jehovah answered Job in a windstorm: 8 " ' And who barricaded the sea behind doors When it burst out from the womb, 9 When I clothed it with clouds And wrapped it in thick gloom, 10 When I established my limit for it And put its bars and doors in place, 11 And I said, You may come this far, and no farther; Here is where your proud waves will stop? ' " (New World Translation)

About the Artist - B L Qualls

B L Qualls

My mother was an artist. Before I can barely remember she drew black lines on a paper and I colored in the spaces. So I was learning non-objective design before I knew what the word meant. I learned watercolor landscape from books while I was in high school. I was taught abstract and non-objective painting, photography, weaving and 3D design Kutztown State University. I began digital art in 2000. I do a variety of work landscape, abstract and non-objective. Every time I paint I do a whole series which are entirely different from any previous work.
