About Kurt Plinke
Eastern Shore artist Kurt Plinke has been working on paintings between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic for almost thirty years. Delicate transparent watercolors and egg tempera paintings are his hallmarks, often illustrating the intertwined relationships between man and nature. Meticulous yet spontaneous, Kurt's paintings are easily recognizable. An enthusiastic birder, Kurt began painting as a way to illustrate wildlife he has seen. Over the years, his work has delved more and more deeply into how the natural world and the human world coexist. Some of his paintings are hyper-realistic, others are quite abstract.
