This 1769 rustic map is a glimpse into the past of Boston and our country's heritage. Although the map doesn't hint at any discord, it's just a few years before 1775 and the war for our independence. This is a spectacular hand drawn map with plenty of historical data to keep a person engaged or serve as the centerpiece of conversation. At the upper left script denotes that the map was presented to the Capt General and Governour in Chief of His Majesties Provinces of the Massachusetts Bay & New Hampshire in New England. A partial description under the map title reads: Boston the Metropolis of New England, is the largest, most populous and flourishing Town in the British Dominions. The country round about is exceedingly delightfull, well stored with Provisions and all other necessities of life. The air is exceedingly clear and pleasant, perfectly well agreeing with the English Constitutions. The map marks and names the 12 original Wards of Boston. Listed are the 10 Great Fires of B...
