Bottom-McAfee-Guthrie House - Perryville KY by Thia Stover

The historic Bottom-McAfee-Guthrie House is located in Perryville [Kentucky]. It was built by Samuel Bottom around 1820, and served as a stage coach stop. It's a federal style framed house with four large columns in front of the building. The home was used as a hospital during and after the 1862 Civil War Battle of Perryville. Bloodstains from the battle's casualties can still be found on the upstairs floors. This photo was taken on location in Perryville in 2012.

My name is Thia. I'm a self-taught photographer who enjoys expressing realism and impressionism in her photographic work. It was in 2005 that Id picked up the camera "as a hobby" for the first time. But it wasnt until 2006, while photographing the Civil War Battle of Perryville [Kentucky] reenactment, that Id finally found my niche in photography, i.e. capturing images of American historical sites and reenactments. My love for America and her rich history has contributed greatly towards this endeavor. It is my hope that my work would capture the imagination of the viewer and inspire him/her to reflect on America's history and the cost of freedom.
