I did this sketch at Rockport Marine of the progress on the ship Adventure. The original painting was donated to the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport Maine in support of their programs. It was framed with a companion piece named Knees. They together were called "Ribs & Knees and represented boat building and Historic Reproductions done in Midcoast Maine.

The sea and the ships that sail it, Marine Art is my specialty. Watercolors, my preferred medium help me to depict the moods of the elements along the coast of Maine. I don't want anyone guessing about my subject matter. I want them to become a friend and partner in my voyage, to feel the fog, hear the bell buoys, follow the lighthouses and feel the tilt of the deck as we sail the seas together. I am primarily a self taught artist. During childhood my Mother, who attended both Pratt Institute and Boston University taught me the basics of watercolor.
