Artist's Description
The history of the first hamburger remains a mystery. Some say it was a group of nomadic people called the Tartars who tenderized their beef by placing it under a horse's saddle--flattening it into a patty. Others believe it was the German immigrants who traveled to the United States during the 19th century bringing with them their favorite meal called Hamburg Style Beef-- a raw chopped, piece of beef. Some argue Americans placed the first cooked beef patty on a roll at the St. Louis World's Fair in 1921.On average,
Americans eat 3 hamburgers a week. McDonald's has sold 12 hamburgers for every person in the world. 60% of all sandwiches eaten are hamburgers.
The photograph of this burger joint was taken in Maypearl, TX. Simple geometric shape of this building fits perfectly in simple geometric landscape created from shapes, colors, textures and other stuff.

About Elena Nosyreva
I was born and raised in Russia. I got my PhD degree in biology in St Petersburg State University (Russia) and continued my research work in the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1999, I moved to the United States to pursue my neuroscience research at the UT Southwestern Medical Center located in Dallas, TX. Being a scientist has been very rewarding in many aspects including creativity. However, I felt a compelling need to further express myself by taking an artistic journey. My artistic experimentation has evolved into a tremendously exciting form - mixed media collage, fine art photography, and digital art. I like experimenting with my photographs. I combine multiple images, textures, to crystallize an image that says something new...
