Working with the neon medium since 1978, Fritz's art, with neon in combination with other sculptural materials as an art form, has reached a level of expression all his own. Welded aluminum, steel, carved wood, stone and acrylic paintings are brought to life when illuminated with his multi-colored neon "sculpted lightsticks". Some of Fritz's pieces display a sort of "metal or wood collage" style where special pieces of material are made to catch or reflect colored light. Currently even colored or clear sheet glass is used, often shaped by heat, then polished.
