There are a number of bistros named Cafe des Arts, in Staint Tropez one can sit and watch the Boule Ball players while sampling some of the best French cuisine the Cote D' Azur has to offer, sitting at a table in the Cafe des Arts in Saint-Remy-de-Provence until recently evoked the joyful atmosphere of the 1930s, when Jean Cocteau or Picasso used the cafe as a stopover on their journey over the Alpilles mountains road, mingling with the locals at the old wooden bar. Unfortunately the bistro has lost some of this unique ambience, its best memories are preserved by the old men of the village, or perhaps the guestbook kept discreetly by the former owner. For those who love the cafe culture there are still many other legendary addresses...
