Our eyes and ears process more data than any of our other sensory organs combined on a daily basis, but it is just raw data. It is our brain that translates this data into useful information, while at the same time sorting through the enormous amount of data received and filtering out what is not of use to us.

Most of us go through life with our brain on the "factory setting' with regard to this filtering process, which means it is focusing on your physical well being and survival. While that made sense to me, I still didn’t know what they were really talking about.
