During the fall of 2012, I embarked on a mission to capture a shot of Utah's *green* side. Since the state is predominantly known for its red rock country, I wanted to capture some waterfalls showing the vastness of Utah's contrasting landscapes. A photographer colleague and I wandered down a steep hillside, not far from the highway, and followed this little stream. The thick forest prevented anything magical, until we walked upon this spot. This was the result, a pleasant fall scene in the Uinta National Forest.
Chad Dutson is a wilderness photographer who occasionally ventures into fine art portraiture. He strives to capture the finest nature scenes possible, frequently taking adventures to extreme levels to capture "the shot." He has experienced hypothermia, been stung by a scorpion, waited for hours in twenty degree (20F/-7C) temperatures, nearly stepped on a rattlesnake, and stood for hours under pelting rain through a lightning storm.
"Some say they lose themselves in one thing or another; however I find myself through photography, losing only the sense of time. I frequently shoot from sunset to sunrise. Photography brings out the passion I feel for both nature and humanity." -- Chad Dutson
