Artist's Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Many things are not always what they seem to be. In 1900, George C. Boldt the famous owner of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, began construction of a full-size Rhineland castle. He chose Heart Island near Alexandria Bay on the St. Lawrence River to build a six-story, 120 room castle for his wife Louise. Sadly, she died suddenly during construction in 1904. This has compelled me to find beautiful scenes wherever I go and to share my favorite creations with others who may not have the time or...
