Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I love this print! Her dress is so pretty and victorian and I can daydream that this is me in another lifetime , contemplating life while visiting the sea

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

Just exactly what I was looking for. Next time I’m in SFO, I’ll be sure to wear flowers in my hair! Thank you so much for bringing back all those memories.

Artist's Description
The Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, in downtown Lafayette, LA., was completed in l916, and is on the National Registry of Historic Properties. It is the third church built on the site donated by Jean Mouton in l821, when Lafayette was then called Vermilionville.
Adjacent to the Cathedral is the St. John Cemetery. Located there are the tombs of Jean Mouton and his son Alexandre Mouton, who was governor of Louisiana from l843 to l846. Also next to the Cathedral is the ancient, majestic St. John Oak Tree. At nearly 5 centuries old, the mammoth oak measures over 28 feet in circumference and stands approximately 126 feet high and 210 feet across.
About Ron Landry
I was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana where I currently reside with my wife, Sue. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. My interest in art began at an early age, but I became seriously interested after completing college. Over the past several years, I've produced many oil paintings and charcoal drawings that hang in numerous residences and places of business. My artwork, whether commissioned or otherwise, is all carefully planned and composed with great attention given to detail and capturing the intended mood and atmosphere. My charcoal technique is unique in how the drawings develop, or “emerge” from...

Thanks for the nice comment, Karen. Charcoal is my favorite medium at this point, but this piece was a real challenge. My method is primarily "erasing and blending," after covering the page in charcoal. So I bit off a little more than I bargained for on this one. Thanks again.

This is great I have tried several time to paint this, I too am from Lafayette, have been unable, so I will enjoy yours for now and continue trying to do one. Thank you for posting it, Karen.
