This is Chance, an amazing pit bull who was found abandoned, near death outside of Redmond Oregon last summer. He was saved and nursed back to health thanks to the wonderful people of Brightside Animal Center, great doctors, and the help from compassionate community donations. This special boy survived when every odd was against him. The strength Chance expresses in this pose is a perfect representation of his journey. Chance will get to go home with his new lucky family 1/31/2014. A portion of all proceeds made from Chance's painting will be donated back to Bright side Animal Center.
A native to Northern Michigan, I began my artist expression early. I started entering art competitions in elementary school, and continued to create and explore through every medium I could get my hands on. I dual-enrolled in college art classes at 16, and proceeded onto a BFA, concentrating on figure illustration. I find different mediums work best for specific subject matters, and my photography is preimarly a source of study for my painting. Pastel,Charcol,Acylic,Oil,motion media, and photography are all tools I call upon in my practice. I currently run a custom frame shop in Bend, OR. Practicing color theory, proportion, and design has helped my own work evolve. I see the matting and framing as an extension of my work and vision.
