About the Artist - Alicia Drakiotes

Alicia Drakiotes

Welcome to my art site! I have lived in New England my entire life and enjoy immensely the simplicity of nature and the rural influences. I received a BA in Visual Communications in 1987 and after a good career began my full time art career in 2003. Working primarily in pastel and oil mediums I have varied works in private collections internationally. My works reflect my appreciation of a simplistic lifestyle and Vintage Americana. My creative process is most often motivated by specific landmarks and the nature surrounding it. Finding inspiration in the beauty of open fields, quiet forests, rocky coastlines, or in old relics such as beautiful barns and aging automobiles, I paint what I appreciate most.
