Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of Chatham, NY the Clock Tower was built in 1872 as home of the Ocean Fire Company No. 1. The round top window in the end on the ground floor originally was a fire truck door. The clock still works and is maintained by the village.
Sketching and drawing for as long as I can remember, I now paint landscapes in oil on canvas in a style influenced by the Hudson River School. I got my start copying my favorite comic book characters in pencil/pen and ink. Shortly before high school I took a correspondence course with Art Instruction School in Minneapolis Minn. I furthered my studies in high school. Friends know me as the guy who drew his self portrait in the year book. In my freshman year I was introduced to oils. Since then this has been my favorite medium. I am fascinated with reflections, light filtering through fall leaves and the sky. As a self employed house painter I carry my camera everywhere, capturing and freezing bits of color, light and shadow to paint from.
