A musician and poet as well as an artist, Ward earned a Master's Degree in Studio Art from Northern Illinois University in 1985. He teaches art to both children and adults. He has participated in numerous art exhibitions in the Midwest. He was a participant in the Graduate Exhibition at Northern Illinois University, spring 2003.
