Christ Pantocrator-byzantibe icon
The iconic image of Christ Pantocrator ("Almighty" or "All-powerful") was one of the first images of Christ developed in the Early Christian Church and remains a central icon of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Christ holds the New Testament in his left hand and makes the gesture of teaching or of blessing with his right.
My art of choice is iconography.
I have been painting icons for 7 years now. I am self-taught
Icon from Greek “eikon”, means “image”. In modern culture it is also used in the general sense of “symbol”. The art of making icons, iconography, follow certain symbolism that carries a message. An icon can be a meaningful gift to family or friends.
Every new icon I paint, I try to make it better – more spiritual, more refined, more powerful.
