Hosier Lane, Melbourne 1991
If you were to visit Hosier Lane now, or even do an internet search, you will find a totally different scene. The lane is the same, the same buildings and bluestone paving, but it is now a prominent part of the Melbourne Street Art scene.
Melbourne is known as one of the world's great street art capitals for its unique expressions of art displayed on approved outdoor locations throughout the city. Street art includes stencils, paste-ups and murals and does not include graffiti or tagging which is illegal.
I have a vast collection of b&w negatives and I've had some of them professionally scanned to eliminate the need for a darkroom. This Photograph was taken in 1991 using Ilford FP4 film
Creativity is what defines me. The creativity of others inspires me.
My work is photographic based; both my own photographs and stock images are used in the creation of my art.
My subject matters vary; living in a rural area provides me with a source of inspiration, big skies, and birds soaring on the breeze and the beauty found in my own garden. Music, lyrics, fairytales and mythology also spark my creativity.
I enjoy creating a mood or story through the use of colour and the grouping of images in diptychs and triptychs.
All work is for sale in various sizes and formats. Thank you for visiting my gallery, I hope you enjoy browsing.
