Coagulated rubber, early 20th century. Pieces of coagulated rubber produced by the rubber industry. Most rubber produced before the 1930s was natural rubber, produced from the sap of rubber trees. This photograph, dating from around the period between 1915 and 1920, is from the Bain News Service, one of the USA's earliest news picture libraries.
