Beautiful print! The only thing I don’t love is the imprint from the wood at the back of the canvas. Maybe different packaging would help?
Artist's Description
"Coffee" is a part of Mary Ely's self portrait series: M.E. Mary Ely has a huge love of coffee, some would call it an addiction. The portrait is about two of Mary's loves, coffee and painting. Mary Ely grew up in a family of coffee lovers. As a child, she routinely was the server of coffee for everyone in the house, and to keep it coming constantly for family and guests. She can still remember vividly her Father calling, "about a half a cup." He hated when his coffee ran cold, so he always wanted just a half a cup at a time. As Mary grew up, she of course, became a huge coffee drinker herself. She prefers to buy the beans whole to grind them up for the freshest, most delicious, cup of coffee. This past year she bought a Keurig machine, and she loves it so much, it might be her next painting.
After taking many emotionally draining self portraits, "Coffee" was a light hearted break in her self portraiture. It is simply something she really enjoys and wanted to capture.

About Mary Ely
I regularly photograph myself in direct and confronting ways. I think when it comes right down to it; most of us are in some way still trying to figure ourselves out continually through life. I think we realize it is hard to look in the mirror sometimes and even harder to not only look into the mirror, but show it to all of those around. - M.E. Mary Ely Born in Mtn.
