(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserve) A visit to the beautiful walled City of Quebec is quite similar to traveling back in time to Europe. Cobblestone streets, stone walls, gates, fortifications and the French culture all add up to a great experience. Most buildings were constructed in the early 19th century while many others date back to the 18th and 17th centuries. Today they are filled with shops, restaurants, bars, inns and hotels for tourists who come by the thousands all year long. There is also a small store named after Canada's famous Franciscan, Pere Frederic, which sells devotional books, rosary beads and other religious items. I quietly observed as she swept the sidewalk and then noticed the figure of Jesus inside the window, apparently watching over her. A truly inspirational scene in this beautiful ... Colors Of Quebec.

About Mel Steinhauer
My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
