It has been so dry here in the hills of Tasmania. A drought lasting 20 weeks in summer and 20 weeks in winter;. The Rain forest is stressed and the groundwater is disappearing. It is exacerbated by the tree plantations as they are sucking up all the available water. This was one of the highest rainfall areas in Tasmania and the cleanest in the world but in 16 years I have watched the gradual change in the landscape and know that we are the cause of this problem.
