The Bridgeton Covered Bridge was originally built in 1868, with a span of 245 feet over the Big Raccoon Creek. It was in full use for 99 years until it was bypassed in 1967. In April of 2005, it was destroyed by fire but was then rebuilt the following year by the hard work and generous donations of area residents.
