Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

Artist's Description

A car skid mark leading to the horizon seems to head straight for the Crab Nebula in this composite picture. The star's spectacular death in the constellation Taurus was observed on Earth as the supernova of 1054 A.D. Now, almost a thousand years later, a superdense neutron star left behind by the stellar death is spewing out a blizzard of extremely high-energy particles into the expanding debris field known as the Crab Nebula. This composite image uses data from three of NASA's Great Observatories. The Chandra X-ray image is shown in light blue, the Hubble Space Telescope optical images are in green and dark blue, and the Spitzer Space Telescope's infrared image is in red. The size of the X-ray image is smaller than the others because ultrahigh-energy X-ray emitting electrons radiate away their energy more quickly than the lower-energy electrons emitting optical and infrared light. The neutron star, which has the mass equivalent to the sun crammed into a rapidly spinning ball of neutr...

About Larry Landolfi

Larry Landolfi

When I moved to Kodiak, Alaska in May of 1980, I wasn't there a day when I called my dad (the "photo-bug" of the family) and told him to send me a camera, any camera, and send it quick. The camera was from a camera company I'd never heard of before or since (Bessler), but more importantly I was well on my way into the wonderful world of photography. Astronomy has always been another "love of my life", and I think it shows in a lot of the composite photos shown here. About a dozen years ago my youngest brother Joe told me I should get into computers and this thing called Photoshop. Told me it was right up my alley in what I tried to take "in camera". I flat out told him I already had 2 hobbies that were costing me thousands of...
