I was born in the Midwest and lived in Indiana and Ohio until retiring to Virginia Beach, VA in 2006. After enjoying my art primarily as a hobby before leaving my life as a medical technologist, I am now proud to call myself a full-time professional artist. Most of my career was spent in the highly regulated field of blood banking and transfusion medicine, but I've always loved the creative process. Because of my commitments to working, making a home and raising my children, I had little time to draw or paint. I took an occasional art or ceramics class, but saw them more as a neglected hobby than a calling. Even after periods away from art, though, I found myself being pulled back time and time again and eventually, came to realize...
