Narcissus (commonly called daffodil) is a genus of mainly hardy, mostly spring-flowering, herbaceous perennials in the Amaryllis family, subfamily Amaryllidoideae.Their native range includes Europe, North Africa and West Asia—their center of distribution is in the Western Mediterranean. The number of distinct species varies widely depending on how they are classified, with the disparity due to similarity between species and hybridization between species. The number of defined species ranges from 26 to more than 60, depending on the authority. Species and hybrids are widely used in gardens and landscapes, with various common names—daffodil, narcissus, jonquil— that are used variously to describe all or some of the genus.
A very warm welcome to my floral art collection.
I live in Buckinghamshire England United Kingdom.
I discovered my love for flower photography whilst studying for a diploma in horticulture in 2005., have not looked back since. I currently use a Nikon D700 and D300 with my favourite Lens the Nikkor 105 micro VR. I also use and love the Lensbaby composer with +4 & +10 macro attachments and the new Sweet 35 optic.
In 2008 I was the RHS photographer of the year, my work has also been published in magazines, national newspapers, book covers and greeting cards.
I do hope you enjoy looking at a little part of my world, do feel free to come over to my NEW Facebook page and 'Like' ...
