About the Image

Dancing Fool by Mike McGlothlen

We drove all day to get to the race track at sunset. When we arrived to that last stretch of dirt road, it had not bee grated in a while. We gave it a try. We had 22 miles to go in our rented Corolla and after going two miles at a top speed 6 MPH we knew we wouldn't make it by sunset, maybe not at all. We turned back and continued through DEATH VALLEY. We didn't want to waist the sunset so we stopped at this dried lake bed to have some fun.

About the Artist - Mike McGlothlen

Mike McGlothlen

Over the years Mike has dabbled in painting, sculpting, & wood working as well as photography. Feeling himself a jack of all trades, master of none, Mike returned to school in 1988 to receive a degree in commercial photography. He then honed his photography skills in the large commercial studios in High Point, North Carolina. During this time period he was forced, with one arm tied behind his back, to learn how to use a COMPUTER. This was Mike's turning point in his artistic abilities, being able to combine his love for art with his photographs. "Welcome to the world as I see it. To smile, be happy and laugh as much as possible, that's what life should be about. I hope this shows through my work and makes you feel the same way."...
