About the Image

DEADWOOD SOUTH DAKOTA c. 1876 by Daniel Hagerman

Based upon a photo of Deadwood, South Dakota taken in 1876, a year or so after the founding of the town. Deadwood was never legitimate. It was built on Indian Treaty land and was a rowdy, lawless, and ruckus den of saloons, gambling, prostitution, opium dens, murder, and gold mining. Hickok was gunned down at a poker table in Deadwood. At the right in the piece is SHINGLE Saloon, reputed to be one of Wild Bill Hickok's hangouts. About the Artist - Daniel Hagerman

Daniel Hagerman

MODIFICATIONS and CUSTOM Orders WELCOME! As a youth, I was constantly drawing, painting, and experimenting in fine arts. Also, I had a strong interest in architecture. Today, I enjoy photography, history, drawing and painting. I labored over 25 years in a pre-World War II aluminum mill, some of the time on catwalks above two-thousand degree, electrically charged molten metal. At the height of my career the plug was pulled when various globalist financiers ravaged the company. In my mid-40s, I returned to college and re-educated as a computer network engineer. I currently work for local government. As a computer expert, I am proficient in most of the digital imaging software out there. As you browse offerings . . . keep in mind...
