Desdemona rising from the ashes of her tragic death as the woman she wanted to be, needed to be, free from her mortal chains, she is fearless, fierce and free. Shedding the heavy chains of victimization she wore in her volatile relationship with Othello.
ABOUT THIS SERIES:
This series was born of a series of outtakes i did when trying to get the right facial expressions to overlay with R Paul Sardanas amazing abstract portraits of Desdemona.
I very much wanted a way to combine mediums, to collaborate on this collection. R. Paul Sardanas was generous enough to let me use his abstracts paintings as a photographic canvas. I loved the challenge of working in mixed media.
It is because i took so many portraits before i got the right...
CONNECT WITH ME:
I am a self-taught photographic artist, writer and poet. My primary goal as an independent artist is to translate experiences from my life into an art form, making the personal... universal. This approach allows me to create a connecting thread in the universal fabric we share, creating a gateway to emotions deep.
It is also important for me to use my art as an awareness heightening medium that addressees social issues, including; sexual abuse, domestic violence and mental illness/health.
