A perfect card that is accurate to the artwork.

This art did not translate well in this printed card. The foreground detail does not show well, unfortunately. I do love the art itself.

I'm not sure this artwork can be accurately replicated in this format. I may try ordering it as a print to see if that will work better.

The image is a little dark but it is a card I will give at Christmas.
Notoriously hard to photograph and named for the warning calls they emit when they are frightened or disturbed, dik-diks are tiny herbivorous antelopes that hail from the shrublands and savannas of eastern Africa. When encountering predators, dik-diks prefer to hide rather than run, so their grassy habitat allows for ample cover to escape.
In addition to their miniature size, dik-diks are also known for their monogamy an evolutionary trait developed in response to predation, which is more likely to occur while exploring and looking for new partners. Other traits that help them avoid predation include highly advanced sight, scent and hearing.
Their unusual snout is an extremely efficient cooling mechanism that keeps them from overheating, even in temperatures up to 104 degrees. This adaptation makes them water independent they get all of their necessary hydration from the plants they eat.

During my journalism career I published hundreds of news and feature articles along with several travel articles about life in the Southern Ocean. Last year my work was been published on the online version of the Smithsonian Magazine and one of my King Penguin...

Great photograph! It looks like it posed just for you. Nice reflection in the eye.
Amanda Stadther replied:
Thanks Gail, they are so hard to photograph! Some aren't much bigger than a cat and disappear so fast.
