The oil on canvas painting �Domingo� represents, not only a theatrical tool used to entertain, but also a teaching tool that was used by my father�s puppetry troupe that was commissioned and funded by the state of Mexico. Domingo entertained and instructed whole communities, towns and villages throughout Mexico. The puppet represented a humble, down-to-earth character that was given a caring temperament that resonated with the Mexican people and was welcomed and well received. Domingo represents how art, theater and folklore can open doors and captures the imagination and the well wishes of the people. Domingo is not an elaborately made puppet (a simple marionette frame dressed in a poncho and old jeans), yet Domingo�s simplicity speaks volumes.

I was born in Bolivia, South America but was raised in the American Northwest. My inclination for drawing, painting and crafting was encouraged and inculcated by a father who is a master puppeteer and a mother who is a trained painter and fashion designer. I have trained to work with oils, pencil and charcoal and other two dimensional rendering techniques. Also, I design and craft decorative masks. My paintings have been influenced by the theatrical expressions found in puppetry and marionettes and the decorative masks are inspired by the lively culture found in South America.
