Along the Shale creek path to the Eternal Flame there was a part in the creek where Mother Nature truly was amazing. this shot is actually of the creek flowing through a spit in a fallen tree. The creek wasn' going to let any old tree block it up so as the tree dried out the water snuck through the cracks.

The so-called �eternal flame falls� is a waterfalls of Shale Creek in the southeast corner of Chestnut Ridge Park in an area known as the Shale Creek Preserve. A grotto on the right side of the falls (as you are facing it) has several fissures through which methane gas escapes.
