According to the 2010 census there are only 751 people living in Perryville, A quaint village formed shortly after the War of 1812 was named in honor of Commodore Oliver Perry, a famous hero of the Battle of Lake Erie. During the Civil War, a battle major battle ended the Confederate campaigns in Kentucky, which was on the border between the North and the South. These buildings now known as Merchant's Row were built in the late 1830s and still stand today. They formed the main part of the village way back then and in 1961 became a vital part of our National Historic Landmarks.
